Meet Janie
Questa Jane Von Wolfstal, known as Janie, is the newest member of the Helgyn Haus family. She is named after my mother, Jane Elgin, who loved GSDs. My mom passed several year ago and I know she would be thrilled to have this pup named after her.
Janie came home in September of 2022, all the way from Wolfstal Kennel in Indiana, where she was born in June 2022. Janie is a Kirschental dog, a line developed in Germany by Karl Fuller. Fuller began his breeding program in the 1950s and continued until his death in 2012. Karl developed dogs that were excellent sheep herders, and not only in competitions. His dogs herded sheep across miles of country in Germany, moving them from pasture to pasture. They were true working dogs. The Kirschental line is also known for its excellent conformation, movement, dependable temperament, health, and versatility. They excel at IGP and other sports.
Janie enjoys living in a family that includes two other dogs and a cat. Janie has become an accomplished agility dog and is doing well in tracking too, earning her TD (AKC Tracking Dog) title. Janie has a BH-VT and she is doing well in RH, having earned her RH-FL-V, RH-FL-A, and RH-F-V.
I have endeavored to follow the USCA/SV guidelines for Janie, including sending her hip, elbow, and spine Xrays to Germany. Her hips and elbows are A normal and her spine-LUW, is Type O, also normal. She earned her conformation titles of SG1 in June 2026. This was the highest she could achieve at that time. Janie also has an AD, the 12 mile endurance test, and her WB, an extensive character assessment. Her DNA has been completed. She is Embark clear.
Janie will be bred in December of this year to UKC CH Albtal’s Animikki Von Haus Mahr, a very nice dog that also carries Kirschental lines. Animikii means thunder in Ojibway, hence he has the call name of Thunder. This will be a line breeding on 2xV1, HGH, BSZS Lailani Von Kirschental, V Aisha Von Kirschental, V Jassie Von Kirschental, and VA1 BSZS 2001 Ursus Von Batu.
